En su mayoría perros y gatos, han podido volver a sus hogares luego de la lamentable catástrofe.


Diversas consecuencias trajo consigo la explosión en el puerto de Beirut, que dejó a más de 191 fallecidos, casi 6.500 heridos y alrededor de 300.000 personas sin techo en el Líbano.

Y a un mes de la detonación, la organización sin fines de lucro "Animals Lebanon", se ha dedicado de reencontrar a las mascotas, como perros y gatos, que se perdieron tras escapar por el ruido y el derrumbre de las estructuras. 

"Nos han contactado cientos de veces desde la explosión; somos la principal organización de bienestar animal en el país", indicó a la agencia PA, Jason Mier, director ejecutivo de la organización.

Detalló además que hay cerca de 40 personas trabajando para llevar a cabo estos emocionantes reencuentros, y "el objetivo es seguir adelante, sé que estamos haciendo las cosas bien, sé que estamos haciendo felices a las personas, pero es abrumador para todos", agregó.

REUNITED after Beirut Blast and surviving 10 days stuck in shaft Ashta was one of the lost pets that her guardians contacted us about. We have been searching for her since the first days of the blast. After 10 days our team heard her meows coming from a shaft in the destroyed building. Luckily there was water dripping and she was able to survive all this time! She remained with us until her guardian was able to pick her up! Animals Lebanon team has been on the ground from day one of the blast with a team of over 250 volunteers. We have reunited over 100 animals & are still rescuing animals that are directly & indirectly affected from the blast & caring for the many animals rescued as a result of it. A team of international & local vets have been checking, treating & spaying/neutering animals. There are still many rescued animals we are temporarily caring for, those that have guardians who have passed away or guardians that cannot currently care for them & many strays that were injured during the blast. Time to share HAPPY moments With everything that has been happening these past weeks we thought everyone needs some mood lifting happy moments so we compiled some of the heartwarming reunions that have happened since the blast. Our team has been on the ground after the Beirut Blast to help located lost pets and rescue injured ones. Our efforts reunited more than 100 guardians with their pets. These guardians had lost so much, many were injured and they were so grateful and happy to see their pets again . SEARCH PARTY - continued efforts Our hearts will always be with the people, those who got affected, those who lost people, those who were injured and those who lost their homes. But there are also the animals that need help. Many pets were lost or injured during the explosion and they still need help. People are calling on us daily to help rescue their own pets who got stuck or lost during the explosion Animals Lebanon team has been on the ground since day one organizing search teams for all the displaced pets during this horrific disaster. Over 200 volunteers have been with us on the ground, coming from all over Lebanon and we are so grateful for their amazing support! Our efforts have reunited over 70 animals with their guardians. So many of the guardians have been injured and were so happy to see their pets again. Search and Rescue will continue today.
